It amazes my how many lives I have apparently ruined by asking people to walk around to the other side of the customer service counter to use the exit door. All the cursing and name calling!
I finally got cleared to go back to loading when my diabetic neuropathy struck a dirty blow. I was on the last week of greeter duty when I developed a horrible wound on the bottom of my left foot.
I can't take the verbal and, yes, physical abuse as greeter much longer now that I have no end in sight.
My doctor has arranged for me to pick up a scooter that I kneel on and kick along with my better foot.
Thank goodness for my veteran status. I have spent so much time at the V.A. Women's Clinic and in the Portland V.A. Hospital in the last few months I would never have been able to pay the bills.
