Nuts! No more to the door service at work. The bus will be dropping me off and picking me up 10 minutes walk from work starting Saturday. An umbrella will be standard kit from now on and DEET! damned skeeters!
There is an enjoyable bit to the walk; the hawk likes to circle close behind me scolding me for walking through its hunting grounds and scaring away the ground hogs.
On the days the hawk isn't paying attention the ground hogs sit up on their haunches and watch me walk by. I guess good eye site isn't the same as "smrts."
For over a week now I have been listening to Lois McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan series completely out of order.
Seriously, if you like sci-fi, mystery, action, light military action (as opposed to David Weber), romance, and or detective (later in the series) stories you’ll like these books. Start with Shards of Honor.
I am going through HULU’s collection of the old Highway Patrol series. Great stuff. Lots of classic and even antique “car porn.” Car fans can watch it with the sound down and not want to miss a minute. Cop show fans will enjoy the stories and laugh at a few of the bloopers like when Dan Mathews talks into the back of the microphone or holds it up to his ear to listen to the radio (that bit reminded me of a relative or two) or when he drives off in a car with no roof lights, races down the highway in a car with Mickey Mouse lights and then arrives in the original or similar car.
June 2017 is my 60th birthday. Where did the time go?
