I was just offered a new job. Still part time but permanent with many options for advancement. Woo Hoo!
I got picked up for the Holiday contract for Canon Printers.
My last job ended with the contract. My fridge is full but I am out of money for the bus. I got a check from BDS for an adjustment but it was for $6 something. It will cost $5 to cash it. Not a lot of help there.
Anyway, I have some prospects. People are calling me this time. That is a good thing.
I just read that Obama, through Sequester cuts, has cancelled Portland's Rose Festival Fleet Week. This just a week after learning that the Thunderbirds and Blue angels are also cut
My new prescription shoes make it so much easier to walk at the end of the workday. It used to be that I felt like being carried home in a bucket. One bus driver became disracted as I hobbled to the exit and took off. I landed in the aisle. The driver didn't even notice the commotion when other passengers gathered around to assist me. I should have reported him.
Well no worries now. I am not exactly bouncing but I can walk almost normally at the end of the day even after a hour sitting on the bus on the commute home.
I have what for now it the perfect job. I work two days a week as a factory rep for a world class electronics firm. I get all the customer contact I love and don't have the chores or grunt work. I was afraid a first that it was only going to be seasonal but Christmas and New Years have come and gone and I am being encouraged to fill in my schedule for February.
I woke up this morning at quarter to three sleeping on my torn rotator cuff. I got up, popped a hydrocodone and rubbed on some capsasin. After making my usual rounds of internet bookmarks I tried to go back to sleep. The itch started.
It ended up that I took a rather pleasant walk down to the waterfront. The river was so smooth and it reflected all the lights so brightly. The Morrison Bridge was lit with its colorful lights. Beautiful.
I walked down to the new mass transit bridge construction site and circled back along the right of way for the new tracks, then the South Park Blocks.
Its about Six AM and I may be able to get a nap in.
The girl next door just got home. I shouldn't call her a girl but she is quite young in my frame of reference. She is a Navy vet so not really a girl is she.
She has a dog who is half black lab and half boxer. This dog is a bundle of energy. Not like Red, the irish setter who used to live next door on the other side. Zuse has maners.
Between the two of them they are a bit noisy. Zuse's claws tap tap tap on the bamboo floors and she is frequently audible through the walls.
The thing is, it's OK. It's always happy sounds. Even when she is getting on Zuse's case for misbehaving.
Most people are living here because they screwed up somewhere and/or are having issues that keep them from living a normal life. It's so nice to hear happy sounds coming from one of the apartments for a change.
June 2017 is my 60th birthday. Where did the time go?
